We created two new spaces for staff to relax and recharge at AP Racing’s historic Coventry site.
The works involved refurbishment of an existing canteen area in one unit and the transformation of what was formerly an office into a canteen in a neighbouring unit.
The brief was to create relaxing spaces away from the workplace where people could come to recharge during their breaks. The client also requested that the colour palette be ‘on brand’ without being too corporate.
By turning the old sales office into a brand-new canteen Matthews Interiors have breathed life back into an unutilised part of the business. The results speak for themselves - since opening the canteen employee satisfaction is at an all-time high.
A combination of carefully chosen materials and lighting have resulted in spaces that not only look great but are resilient and comfortable to be in too.
A stand-out feature is the racing simulator chair, which we designed and manufactured a bespoke plinth for. Other works included installation of new suspended ceilings, a new kitchen, LVT flooring, furniture, lockers and lighting, as well as plumbing and electrical alterations.
